Something about Elijah is very Kendrick Lamar coded. From his versatility in flow, tone and delivery to his ability to adapt his lyrical nature to any sound. Even in moments that are more expressive than others, his knack for delivering fire verses in such a cool and controlled manner.

Like the track's opening line "It hit different when you never miss.." and then a later line where he says "I took the noose right off my neck, I don't wanna hang man..". Though he speaks so cooly, you can still spot the intention in tone for how each verse is retained by listeners.
