Maryland singer-songwriter Alex Vaughn announced her signing to the label of Summer Walker, LVRN, on social media four days ago. Certainly a win for the 27 year-old artist, as she's been pursuing music professionally since 2015. Prior to, Alex would do tons of covers on Youtube for fun. After leaving the University of Hartford as a classical music major, Alex returned home to take her independent artistry serious. Shortly after she released her first project "The 4pm Mix", a 6-track EP. Unable to effectively promote due to contractual issues this left her to do light performances and open mics to introduce her project. During this period the R&B singer spent time in California for networking and a different creative space. In 2016, the songstress was scouted for The Voice which she unfortunately did not make. Then returning home, Alex began building her team of professionals that would help her attain more and larger opportunities. This prompted her performance at The Smoods' OAKtober Fest in 2019 and her creation of her open mic platform "AV Sessions". Last year she dropped two more singles that further grew her audience and the interest of music execs. Since then the "Good Morning" artist has been focused on pushing her music and nourishing her creative process. Last Thursday, LVRN's co-founder Tunde posted a photo of Alex Vaughn on his Instagram story signing a contract which you can see below.
