Lil Xelly- Angel Dust [MIXTAPE REVIEW]

20+ projects later, Rockville's Lil Xelly is still bringing the flame with his newest release 'Angel Dust'. A paragon full of nothing but dreamy, melodic hip hop vibes versus some of the grittier sounds he gave us on his earlier project 'Trap Boyardee'.

In true Xelly style, the project is 16 tracks long. The Soundcloud turned studio recording artist is known for his distinct DMV sound, his serial releasing nature and his longer than usual projects. Rapping a little over 10 years now, the Maryland rapper has tapped into just about every sound he's wanted to integrate into his own. From soft acoustic to rougher bass sounds.

What sets Lil Xelly apart is his ability to serial release and show his creative genius in different ways on each project. His versatility is what keeps listeners drawn in. Though we cant always predict what he'll give us next, we can always anticipate the sounds capturing us.

The no feature mixtape zeroes us in on only Xelly's swaggy flow and catchy jargon. The 22 year-old's slightly off beat style of rap has come with much criticism but also much love. Some of our favorites are Til Im Done, $ Be, 1-800 FCKYOHOE and his title track Angel Dust. Listen to Lil Xelly's Angel Dust below and on all major DSP's.
