It's not a secret that rap and hip hop continues to dominate music scenes internationally. However, as music evolves, so does the traditional routes of creating. While artists like Rico Nasty, Sheck Wes, and JPEGMAFIA have successfully blurred the lines between rage and rap, others are still trying to make it make sense.
Maryland's Lil Xelly caused quite the rucus on social media with his tweet that stated "No real street n*gga hopping on a rage beat"

Seems a little closed-minded on Xelly's end, as the music styles of yesterday have grown tremendously today. However, very few rap artists from the area have taken a liking to sounds of rage. Many individuals chimed in saying the statement wasn't true, Xelly stands by his word though. The young rapper went toe to toe with viewers, not retracting the statement.
