New York living by way of Maryland, rap artist Big Boost is bringing his listeners some surprise heat with his latest project “Super Boost”, also displaying his range of versatility on the 11-track album. "The idea is that nothing can stop me, as I heal." the rapper says. Tracks like “Losing the Game” and “Hit Different” and “Dorks” give us a raw hip-hop feels, yet “Back to You” and “Let You Go” give us a more love feels, or lack thereof.
We see features from M.Brooks, K Pi$tol, JayMarr, and Kaydah King. While the DMV gave him his gutsy sound, New York birthed more of his style of flow although the Buffalo rapper says he is always looking to try new things in music.
Strong influences include SOULCHA, SPRAYPAINT and JayMarr. Interesting enough, Boost also shared that the Disney Channel Network, Gospel and his own family influence him as well. Like others in hip hop, Boost was led to music after being removed from a consistent educational environment at only 18 years-old. However, it put Boost in survival mode with the music, it was his only back up at the time.
7 years later, today, he has mastered embracing life’s uncomfortable transitions and channels it into the music. “I embrace it because uncomfortable situations are what you need to grow in this game.” Boost explains to our team. Praying also helps the 25 year-old rid himself of the nerves that envelop him before he starts processes like writing, recording or performing.
