VA Beach's Gee Litt Releases "Good Grief" EP

There really is something in the Virginia water, and its the beach's hidden R&B gem Gee Litt. Building quite the buzz upon her latest drop 'January 18th' from her project Good Grief. A track that acknowledges the end of a love. On the track, Gee comes to realistic terms with growing apart from her lover and the need to break away through verses like:

"I think its time I let you go, just pack my bags and hit the road/You got enough for free..".

The singer shared "I made this song when I finally internalized that my previous relationship was over with and that was my way of releasing the emotions so they never return." in a short interview with us. Which basically speaks for the EP's theme overall, the title "Good Grief" alludes to some sort of sunshine being on the other side of the anguish she details throughout the 6-track project.

Orchestra, marching band and her family's ties to the church in Gee's adolescent years afforded her a closer glimpse at music, prompting her for an unbeknownst career in music. Her initial dive into artistry was back in 2020. At an advantage due to her musical inclination, her transition to pursuing music full time was plain sailing. Instagram and open mics began brewing conversations about the R&B singer locally. Her sultry voice and poetic delivery earned the 25 year-old a cosign from Pusha T, followed by various large performance opportunities. Some include Broccoli City Festival, Something In The Water, and Audacy's Oceanfront Concerts.

Important to Gee to have a safe and reliable space to create for not only herself but others also, she invested in her own studio space. That same willingness to invest in not only her image but the craft and the bigger picture she sees, is what is going to put her ahead in the race. Gee continues to skillfully build community around her music, through raw expressions and personality highlighting visuals. Which we hope to see more of from the young act.
